After Manchester United’s tense win against West Ham, David de Gea praised Erik ten Hag’s change when out of possession.

Marcus Rashford scored the game’s first goal with a spectacular header just before halftime, but United had to dig deep to keep the three points after a late effort for an equalizer.

As the game approached its climax, West Ham poured all they had forward and were only denied a goal by some outstanding defending and two fine saves from De Gea.

In the waning seconds of the game, the Spaniard reacted brilliantly to claw away a header from Kurt Zouma and then quickly to tip away a ferocious effort from Declan Rice.

Following the game, De Gea was questioned about his vital role in the victory but instead chose to compliment his colleagues, particularly the way they pressed their opponents high up the pitch.

“This is a fantastic victory for us.” “We have to win games like this today if we want to accomplish and be in the top places,” he told Sky Sports.

“Of the two saves, the header from Zouma was perhaps the greatest because it was almost certainly going in, but I am pleased with all of them.” I’m happy to make the saves, and it’s a huge win.

“We’re pressing hard and retrieving the ball well up the field.” We gave up some chances near the end, but West Ham is a fantastic squad. To be honest, I’m overjoyed.”
