Both Victor Lindelof and Antony are forced to miss Manchester United’s match against West Ham.

Lindelof is out due to illness, and Antony is hurt after requiring treatment in Thursday’s 3-0 Europa League win against Sheriff.

Antony was replaced at halftime, but it was unclear whether he was injured or rested.

“He’s injured, and I hope it’s not too serious,” United manager Erik ten Hag told Sky Sports. “I don’t think it’s that serious, and he’ll be back in a couple of days.”

United play Real Sociedad in their final Europa League group stage game on Thursday and must win by two goals to finish top of Group E and avoid a two-legged playoff tie against a team ousted from the Champions League in February.

In the absence of Raphael Varane, who is not expected to feature for United again until the World Cup owing to a hamstring injury, Lindelof started against Sheriff.

Because of their players’ susceptibility to injury, center-back is becoming a significant worry for United.

Varane has already missed two games this season, Lindelof missed the opening three weeks of the season, and Maguire was recently sidelined for four weeks.

Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones have been out for the entire season, and Teden Mengi played his first 90 minutes for the Under-21s in eight months on Saturday against Tottenham.
