Cristiano Ronaldo insists he is pleased at Manchester United and is excited to work with new boss Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo, 37, scored 24 goals in his first season back at United after a 12-year absence and is in line to win his fourth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year title on Saturday.
After United failed to qualify for the Champions League, a competition Ronaldo has competed in for 19 consecutive seasons and won five times, there have been questions about Ronaldo’s future. Ronaldo has a one-year contract with United, with the option of an extension.
However, in a video broadcast by United, Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction while emphasizing that Ten Hag needs time to make the required reforms to restore United’s credibility.
“I know he did an incredible job with Ajax and that he’s an experienced coach,” Ronaldo added. “But we need to give him time and things need to alter the way he wants.”
“Of course, I hope we succeed because if you succeed, then all of Manchester will succeed as well.” As a result, I wish him the best.
“Not only the players, but also the fans, are delighted and excited.” I wish him the best of luck, and let’s hope we win trophies next year.
“Of course, I was thrilled to be back in a club that had a significant impact on my career, so it was incredible. The feeling when I returned, it was fantastic to feel the supporters, and their joy was palpable. I was, and continue to be, overjoyed to be here.
“And what I have to say to the fans is that they are great, even when we lose games. They always support us, they always are with us. The supporters are always in my heart, and they are the people who we should all admire because they are always on our side.”
“The most important thing for me is to win games and win a championship or a cup, but I believe Manchester will be back where they belong.”
“As I already stated, it takes time, but I continue to believe.”
