Manchester United are close to signing a new striker to aid them in the second half of the season. It was recently announced that they have struck a “complete agreement” for Wout Weghorst’s capture.

And Fabrizio Romano has now given the move his stamp of approval. He claims that Manchester United will pay Besiktas €3 million (£2.65 million) to terminate his loan, allowing him to transfer to Old Trafford on a temporary basis from Burnley.

The 30-year-old will fly to Manchester today (Thursday) for a physical before signing a deal with Manchester United.

Weghorst, though, will only be on loan at Manchester United until the end of the season. As a result, Ten Hag must begin looking for a younger goalscorer who can be Ronaldo’s actual heir apparent in the attack.

Manchester United has already passed up a handful of enticing alternatives. Cody Gakpo has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool after the Reds agreed to pay PSV a total of £50 million for him.

Joao Felix was also being considered by Manchester United, but he has now joined Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season.

During a recent question and answer session, leading Manchester United writer Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News wondered who Ten Hag would sign to lead his assault in the coming years.

Ten Hag is planning a huge striker move.
According to Luckhurst, the manager is interested in both Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen. Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus, on the other hand, could be a more likely signing.

Ten Hag does not have as much to play with this time around, either in January or at the end of the season, because Manchester United spent so much money in the summer. And Kudus is a less expensive choice than Kane or Osimhen, who may potentially cost more than £100 million.

Man United’s signing of Kudus might see them mimic Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp’s team signed PSV’s greatest asset and best goalscorer this season, Gakpo.

Kudus wields similar power at PSV’s Dutch rivals Ajax. He is their leading scorer in all competitions, with 13 goals so far. This is two more than Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey.
