According to Corriere dello Sport (page 6), Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has already returned to South Korea and is ready to join Manchester United this summer.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an outstanding maiden season in Serie A with the Naples club. He was an important part of their defense as they won the league title for the first time in 33 years.
Regardless, Min-Jae may be on the move this summer. His contract currently has a €60 million foreign release clause that will go into effect from July 1 to July 15.
United has already stated its intention to exercise the buy-out provision, but it will have to wait for Min-Jae to return to South Korea for necessary military training.
The service will last three weeks, according to Corriere dello Sport, after which he will join the Red Devils.
This week, the center-back left Naples with all of his stuff packed in luggage and ready to travel to Manchester United. Napoli is interested in Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic as a replacement.
United is getting closer to a deal with Min-Jae.
Min-Jae had an outstanding rookie season with Napoli. He preserved 16 clean sheets in 35 Serie A games, surrendering only 24 goals throughout the season.
