Shirt Number Revealed – Manchester United shirt numbers Casemiro could wear after transfer meeting

Manchester United are trying to recruit Casemiro as their fourth signing of the summer. After failing to secure agreements for Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot, they have now turned their attention to the Real Madrid player. And, with sources stating he is ‘likely to accept their offer,’ a massive move to Old Trafford appears to be on the cards.

Manchester United had hoped to recruit De Jong, but with no Champions League football available, the Barcelona star is unlikely to join.

Their pursuit of Rabiot appears to be finished as well, after they refused to make the Juventus star one of their highest-paid players.

United is now interested in Casemiro, a Real Madrid player who has won five Champions Leagues and established himself as a club legend in the process.

According to Relevo, the Brazilian international is “likely to accept United’s offering.”

As a result, Express Sport will now look at the potential shirt numbers Casemiro could end up wearing at United if a transfer is approved.

No 13

The No. 13 jersey, which was last worn by Lee Grant, is presently available at United.

However, given that Casemiro’s favored number is 14 and that he has worn it for the majority of his Real Madrid career, it is the next best thing for the Samba star.

United is unable to furnish Casemiro with the No. 14, having given it to Christian Eriksen earlier this summer following his signing from Brentford.

No 15

At United, the No. 15 jersey is also available.

It was most recently worn by Andreas Pereira, but it has also been worn by Adnan Januzaj and Kleberson during their time at Old Trafford.

However, Nemanja Vidic was arguably the best occupant of all time. The Serbia international is one of the Red Devils’ all-time greats, having won five league titles with the club.

No 16

Despite wearing the number 16, Amad is poised to leave United on loan once more.

After costing United £40 million two years ago, the forward has become something of a forgotten figure at Old Trafford.

Amad battled for consistency at Rangers, and his shirt, which Casemiro wore early in his Real Madrid career, may be appealing to the Brazilian.

No 18

Bruno Fernandes wore the No. 18 shirt for Manchester United until recently.

It’s also a notable number because it was worn by club legend Paul Scholes during his playing days. Ashley Young, who won the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Europa League during his stay at Old Trafford, also did it justice.

As a result, Casemiro may be persuaded to take it.

No 21

This season, United are aiming for their 21st championship.

Obviously, following losses to Brentford and Brighton, that appears doubtful. However, even the most enthusiastic supporters can dare to hope.

Following Edinson Cavani’s departure from Manchester United, the No 21 shirt is now available for Casemiro to assume if he moves to the Premier League.

No 24

The No. 24 shirt is also free at United.

It was most recently worn by Tim Fosu-Mensah, although it has also been worn by cult figures such as Darren Fletcher and Wes Brown.

Casemiro, a bulldozing midfielder who was even better than Fletcher in his prime, has lots of options.

Other possibilities

No. 27 – Last worn by Alex Telles, who is on loan at Sevilla this season.

No. 30 – Nathan Bishop occupies the space that was previously occupied by Guillermo Varela and Matteo Darmian.

No. 31 – Worn by Nemanja Matic before his departure earlier this summer.

No. 32 – Hasn’t been worn since Sam Johnstone left, but was worn by Carlos Tevez before he joined Manchester City.

No 35 – Demetri Mitchell was the most recent occupant, with academy graduates Jesse Lingard and Tom Cleverley previously wearing it.
