Fabrizio Romano Confirms Fake Amrabat Quotes: ‘Yes to Manchester United’

Sofyan Amrabat Seeking a Move to Old Trafford

Following reports that Amrabat told Italian media, “I’m not sure if I’m leaving… “Perhaps I can stay here at Fiorentina,” it appeared that Manchester United was further away from achieving their goal than previously anticipated. This comment is said to have come after Fiorentina’s friendly match against Grosseto, when the midfielder was “speaking” to Italian journalists.

Fabrizio Romano, on the other hand, has ridiculed these reports. According to the journalist, this is not accurate, according to extremely reputable sources. According to the Italian, Amrabat did not mention anything regarding his future.

The Moroccan international, according to Romano, wants to depart and play for Manchester United. This is significant for Ten Hag since there had been high-value proposals from Saudi clubs that United could not match. The fact that Amrabat has already said “yes to United” and that there are no personal issues means that the only thing left to do is submit an official bid.

However, this official bid will be postponed till Fred and Donny van de Beek depart. The midfielder, who has been hailed as a “defensive force,” is eager to join United.

Why does Manchester United require another midfielder?
With Mason Mount already on the club with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro as mainstays, fans may be wondering why they need to invest additional money on their already formidable midfield. As previously stated, the club is waiting for either Fred or Donny van de Beek to leave before making an official bid. Even so, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay are on the bench.

Mount is mostly a central midfielder for Chelsea, but he has occasionally played as a wide playmaker. Mount, who outperformed Jadon Sancho and Antony last season, might be used in a more advanced role, allowing Amrabat to sit deep with Casemiro.

Regardless, United’s new midfielder will significantly improve their squad depth. Last season, the Red Devils played 62 games, and having Scott McTominay as a backup is ineffective, especially in the latter stages of cup competitions.

Furthermore, as Casemiro approaches his 32nd birthday next year, he may be less able to play every minute. Amrabat can provide excellent cover and eventually replace him.
