The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new No. 9 this summer in order to mount a title challenge next season. Certainly, the club has made significant progress under Erik ten Hag’s leadership and following a £216 million investment last summer.

Yet that investment will almost certainly be dwarfed in the coming window, with the club preparing to provide the manager with the biggest single summer of spending in the club’s history.

To that aim, the manager of Manchester United wants to bring in three top-tier players to push the team to the next level.

Ten Hag has added a new defender and a midfield partner for Casemiro, in addition to a new striker.

Furthermore, given David De Gea’s refusal to sign a new contract, a replacement goalkeeper may be sought as well. To that purpose, a report published on Saturday mentioned two new goalkeepers who will be on their radar this summer.

Most speculation, however, revolves around which striker United will sign.

Harry Kane appears to be their top target, with Victor Osimhen also on their radar. Transactions for either will, however, be notoriously difficult to complete.

As a result, Ten Hag considers other choices. And now it appears that a player who is also on their radar and is having a fantastic season is the subject of a massive opening bid.
