‘Best in the league’: Man United’s £35m target is ‘more talented than Mudryk’ United In Focus
Manchester United might emulate Chelsea by targeting Shakhtar Donetsk, with Georgiy Sudakov emerging as a more highly rated prospect than the £88 million Mykhaylo Mudryk in Ukraine.
Since his substantial move to Stamford Bridge nearly a year ago, Mykhaylo Mudryk has shown only sporadic flashes of his £88 million potential.
Manchester United, considering a move for Mudryk’s former Shakhtar Donetsk teammate for around £35 million, would undoubtedly expect a higher level of productivity (Corriere dello Sport).
Georgiy Sudakov has drawn interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, and others, according to TuttoJuve.
The skilled attacking midfielder, once under the management of Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi at Shakhtar, inherited Mudryk’s number ten shirt and is believed by some to surpass the Chelsea player in raw talent.
“Because of the war, the Ukrainian league lost many good players who now play successfully,” says Yehor Danylov, regarding Sudakov’s prowess.
Players like Artem Dovbyk and Viktor Tsygankov, excelling at La Liga leaders Girona, and Ilya Zabarnyi at Bournemouth come to mind.
“Sudakov should be the next player to go and play outside the national borders because he is the biggest talent in our league,” adds Danylov. “
He is a very talented footballer with excellent passing and a good understanding of the pitch.
“Some experts in Ukraine consider Sudakov a more talented footballer than Mudryk. He is a typical attacking midfielder with good technique and shooting ability.”
Despite Sudakov’s potential, a consistent end product is yet to materialize. As a potential long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen, should he move to Manchester United, Sudakov has contributed only three goals and one assist across all competitions this season.
Oleksandr Zinchenko advocates for Arsenal to sign his fellow Ukraine international, and top clubs across Europe are closely monitoring Shakhtar with their scouts.
