THE BIG PICTURE: The defenders did not return because they are not in Erik ten Hag’s future plans. They are not likely to be part of the squad as the Red Devils go on their pre-season tour of the United States.

Bailly and Telles’ contracts at Old Trafford are up in a year, and United have the option to extend them for another year. The club will either sell them this summer or let their contracts run out at the conclusion of the season.

ADDITIONALLY, Bailly, 29, spent last season on loan at Marseille, appearing 17 times in Ligue 1, while Telles, 30, had a solid season at Sevilla, appearing 38 times in all competitions.
