Christian Eriksen has finally been signed by Manchester United. The Denmark international is their second acquisition of the summer, following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia at Old Trafford.

Eriksen became a free agent after his contract with Brentford terminated. The 30-year-old, who formerly played for Tottenham Hotspur for six and a half years, departed Inter Milan after being equipped with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) following a cardiac episode during Euro 2020.

Eriksen excelled during his brief stint with Brentford, and United have now announced that he has signed a three-year contract with the club. We looked at some possible squad numbers for him.

#6

Paul Pogba’s No.6 shirt is now empty, since he has left Old Trafford. The number had previously been used by central defenders Wes Brown and Jonny Evans before Pogba adopted it.

#13

Unfortunately for some, Lee Grant’s departure has left the No.13 shirt unfilled. Ji-sung Park wore it prominently throughout his stint at Old Trafford.

#14

Jesse Lingard also departed United this summer, therefore Eriksen now owns the number 14. Javier Hernandez and Alan Smith have both worn the number.

#24

Eriksen, who wore No.24 at Inter Milan, could be the most likely candidate. Timothy Fosu-Mensah was the last player to wear the number at United.
