Sadio Mane’s Man Utd transfer agreement as Liverpool set price tag for him to leave

Liverpool is anxious to keep Sadio Mane but is currently locked in a contract dispute with the Senegalese forward and his Reds teammate, Mohamed Salah.
Sadio Mane almost joined Manchester United before joining Liverpool.
The Senegal international believes an agreement for a move from Southampton to Old Trafford was in place before Jurgen Klopp called and urged him to bypass the Red Devils and join him on Merseyside instead.
Mane’s decision proved to be correct, as he went on to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup during his stay at the club. But his time at Liverpool may be coming to an end, with reports that a price has been fixed for his sale.
In a subsequent interview with the Daily Telegraph, Mane recalled the incident, saying, “I have to tell, I came pretty close to moving to Manchester United.” I had the contract with me at the time. I had everything agreed upon. It was all set up, but I decided, ‘No, I want to go to Liverpool.’
“I was persuaded to join (Jurgen) Klopp’s idea,” I recall the first time I received a call from Klopp. ‘We have a tremendous initiative at Liverpool, and I want you to be a part of it,’ he stated.
“He then inquired as to what position I desired, as he could see at Southampton.” I used to play on the left and now I play on the right. ‘But (Philippe) Coutinho is on the left!’ he responded after I said I preferred the left.
