According to reports, Robert Lewandowski has signed a contract with Barcelona in Spain.

The superstar striker has expressed his intention to leave Bayern Munich this summer, with Barcelona leading the battle to sign him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Pole has agreed to a three-year contract with Barca worth £27 million, with a weekly wage of roughly £175,000.

Paris Saint-Germain, the French champions, were reportedly interested in hijacking the deal, but Lewandowski’s camp is said to have informed the Catalan club that he has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp.

However, he must wait for Barcelona’s cash-strapped club to sell players before his transfer can be finalized.

The transfer ‘cannot’ materialize, according to LaLiga president Javier Tebas, due to the club’s financial constraints.

Barcelona will hold a crucial meeting on Thursday to explore ways to reduce their hefty salary expense.

Lewandowski’s contract has one year left on it, so Bayern can keep him if they want.

They don’t want to let him go, but the 33-year-old has been vocal about his desire to leave.

‘My era at Bayern is done,’ Lewandowski remarked while on international duty. I don’t think I’ll be able to play for this club any longer.

‘Bayern is a serious club, and I don’t believe they will keep me; I no longer want to play there.’ The best option is to transfer. ‘I’m hoping they don’t put a stop to me.’

The Bundesliga champions also want to buy Sadio Mane from Liverpool, and Lewandowski’s exit might help pay the transfer.
