The Red Devils, despite taking the lead twice, allowed the hosts to make a comeback, with goalkeeper Andre Onana’s errors contributing to two of the goals.

Additionally, substitute winger Facundo Pellistri missed several opportunities to regain the lead for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Pellistri entered the game in the 78th minute, replacing Alejandro Garnacho, who had opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 11th minute.

Despite having at least two promising chances, Pellistri failed to capitalize on them, and other attacks involving him did not materialize.

In a crucial moment during injury time in the second half, Diogo Dalot’s cross seemed to set up a clear opportunity for a Manchester United goal, but Pellistri’s lack of composure prevented him from finding the back of the net.

BBC Sport pundit Stephen Warnock expressed disbelief at Pellistri’s missed chance, saying, “How has he not scored? What an opportunity for Manchester United.”

The draw leaves Manchester United on the brink of elimination from the Champions League. Despite positive aspects in their performance against Gala, mistakes in goalkeeping and finishing proved costly, preventing the Red Devils from securing all three points.

Pellistri, who has seen limited playing time this season, failed to make a compelling case for more starts in his cameo appearance against Galatasaray.
