Jurgen Klopp has long wanted the Portugal star, and the Liverpool manager is considering making a move for him in the summer of 2022. Wolves, on the other hand, pounced, paying Sporting Lisbon roughly £38 million for the Portugal star.

His achievements at Molineux appear to have persuaded Liverpool to renew its interest. While Klopp is said to be prioritizing moves for Nicolo Barella and Alexis MacAllister, Nunes is still on their radar.

And, with Wolves reportedly willing to sell for roughly £50 million, Klopp has been presented with a very apparent and simple solution to his midfield problems.

However, according to rumors on Monday, Manchester United may instead attempt to sign the 24-year-old.

While on international duty, the Brazilian-born sensation apparently grabbed the attention of Bruno Fernandes. There have also been reports that United is mulling a summer approach to the Wolves.

According to Football Insider, those preparations appear to be further along than was previously supposed.

Ten Hag is said to be trying hard to reinforce central midfield, with Nunes emerging as a solid target.

With Wolves just reducing his release clause, Manchester United appears poised to pounce for £50 million.

Indeed, both Nunes and Marcel Sabitzer, the latter in a £20 million deal from Bayern Munich, appear certain to join.

However, United’s move for Nunes will come as a disappointment to Klopp, who was still interested in the Portugal star.
