Tyrell Malacia of Feyenoord is set to become Erik ten Hag’s first signing at Manchester United, with the Dutchman slated to have a physical in the northwest today.
Last week, United hijacked Lyon’s contract for the defender, and Malacia notified the Ligue 1 giants of his desire to join United.
However, a disagreement between Malacia and his representatives threatened to derail the relocation to the Theatre of Dreams, but the issue has since been resolved.
The Red Devils have struggled to sign players this summer, with John Murtough focusing his efforts on a contract for Frenkie de Jong.
Malacia, on the other hand, is due to fly to England today to complete his medical with the club before signing a deal worth roughly £13 million.
While Alex Telles is slated to leave, the defender will compete with Luke Shaw for a starting spot at left-back.
Ten Hag is also open to receiving bids for Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, and Phil Jones.
Malacia’s departure might be revealed on Monday, after which United hopes to finalize agreements for De Jong and Christian Eriksen.
After that, United will try to persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford after the 37-year-old wanted to quit the club.
