According to the Mirror, Erik ten Hag has decided not to include Rashford in the Manchester United squad for their Europa League match against Sevilla. Although the injury is not regarded to be serious, the manager will not want to see his top goalscorer sidelined for any longer than necessary.

The Europa League represents an opportunity for Manchester United to build on their recent success. Erik ten Hag has already proven to be a mastermind in English Cup play after winning the Carabao Cup. Rashford has been instrumental in United’s progress in the Europa League thus far, but his departure opens up opportunities elsewhere.

Wout Weghorst, for example, came on as a substitute in the previous encounter against Everton. He’s been on the verge of first-team play for some time, and the Europa League has been a successful competition for him thus far.

Erik ten Hag feels confident in his squad depth, so he no longer needs to risk harming Rashford. Rashford has been United’s finest player and one of the greatest in the Premier League since the turn of the World Cup.

Although it appears to be a distant shot, United might yet fight for the Premier League title. However, they would prefer to finish in the top four. While Sevilla is no pushover, Ten Hag correctly prioritizes Premier League victory over the Europa League.
