NO REST: Man Utd welcomed 4 GOOD news but received 7 SAD news after returning to the latest training session
Manchester United received a double injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Sheffield United this Saturday, as both Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon were seen training on Thursday.
Sofyan Amrabat’s availability for this weekend was in question after an injury prevented him from playing for Morocco during the break.
However, he was back in training on Thursday, indicating that he will likely be fit to face Sheffield United on Saturday.
Sergio Reguilon, who has been dealing with a hamstring problem and missed the team’s last four matches, is also making progress in his recovery.
He was expected to feature against Brentford before the international break, and now it seems he is set to return to the side this Saturday, likely playing at left-back due to the ongoing absences of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Luke Shaw is sidelined until at least next month due to a muscular issue, while Tyrell Malacia had knee surgery over the summer and won’t be available until later in the year.
Raphael Varane, who missed the Brentford clash before the international break due to a minor issue, was back in training on Thursday.
However, Manchester United will be without Casemiro this weekend, as the midfielder remains in Brazil to address a minor problem he suffered while on international duty.
He will also miss the Champions League match against Copenhagen next week due to suspension.
His potential return to the side could be in the Manchester derby against Manchester City on October 29.
Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Amad Diallo are still recovering from their injuries, while Jadon Sancho remains absent due to a falling-out with head coach Erik ten Hag.
Scott McTominay’s stoppage-time brace secured a crucial win against Brentford before the international break, and his performance could earn him a starting role this weekend, especially with Casemiro sidelined.
