Ronaldo Araujo of Barcelona has stated that Alejandro Garnacho’s recent antics have annoyed him. After Manchester United defeated the Catalan giants 2-1 in the Europa League last month, the Manchester United star appeared to insult Pedri in a post. The Red Devils are still in the competition after beating Real Betis both at home and away to improve their hopes of more triumph this season.

Last month, Manchester United knocked Barcelona out of the Europa League with goals from Fred and Antony canceling out an early penalty from Robert Lewandowski.

And, in the aftermath of that result, Garnacho sparked controversy by posting on social media.

Garnacho posted a photo of himself making a binocular with his hands, a gesture popularized by Barcelona player Pedri whenever he joins a team.

In addition, the 18-year-old accompanied the image with the statement, “The big team advances to the next round.” Barcelona fans were outraged, with many directing their rage at the teenager.

And Araujo, speaking to Infobae, has now attacked Garnacho, claiming the United star lacked respect.

“Yeah,” the 24-year-old admitted, “that bothered me.”

“Everyone is how they are, but it was not possible to put something like that at the time.

“I respect everyone, and I believe that humility comes first.

“Everyone expresses themselves as they want, but I like to have a lower profile and then demonstrate what I do on the pitch.

“This is football, he is quite lengthy and there is still a long way to go. You must proceed with dignity and calm.”

Araujo, on the other hand, isn’t thinking about vengeance.

“No, they’re football things that come to mind in a different way,” he explained.

Araujo was also eager to chat about Lionel Messi, who has been linked with a return to Barcelona at the end of the season.

“I would love it if he could come back,” said the Uruguay international.

“He’s the best player in the world, and here is his home.

“His comeback would help us a lot to strive to win another Champions League. Hopefully, there will be plenty of opportunities to have it again. We’d all like to have him on our side.”

Furthermore, Erik ten Hag recently confirmed that United star Garnacho would be out for a spell after limping out of last Sunday’s goalless draw with Southampton.

“I can’t say when he’ll come back. “It will take weeks because it is a significant injury,” the 53-year-old stated.

“Once again, following Christian Eriksen, we have a serious injury as a result of contact.

“This is not a wise decision. It is difficult to make a rapid diagnosis. I took him off because I noticed him limping.”

“He will be back before the end of the season,” he continued.

“We need him back as quickly as possible, and we hope he’s prepared.”

Garnacho was likely to be called up for Argentina’s next games against Panama and Curacao.

Instead, he will remain at home and work on his rehabilitation.
