Manchester United transfers news and rumors as Erik ten Hag seeks targets for his new squad.
Manchester United’s preparations for the upcoming season have already begun.
Erik ten Hag is not wasting any time as he wants to make an immediate impact at Old Trafford after joining Ajax.
United will feel they cannot afford another season of underperformance after underperforming in recent years.
Improvements are required if the Red Devils are to narrow the gap on those above them, and with that in mind, we have compiled all of the most recent transfer news from Old Trafford.
Torres status report
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, United is not yet close to concluding a deal for Villarreal center-back Pau Torres.
“Pau Torres is another guy they discussed,” Romano remarked on his YouTube channel. According to my sources, Pau is open to a move to the Premier League, even to Manchester United.
“There is a 60 million euro release clause.” Villarreal could be open to talks with Manchester United this summer, but at the moment, we are not at the level to claim Pau Torres is close.”
United is expected to make a move for Christian Nkunku of RB Leipzig.
Nkunku has been linked with Liverpool, but Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims United could make an offer next week.
The striker, who has 20 goals this season, is alleged to have refused contract talks, but he is under contract until 2024.
This summer, the Red Devils are expected to sign Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann.
United might sell number two goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who is unhappy with his lack of playing opportunities, and Lee Grant, who has retired.
Bachmann might be brought in on a cheap deal as cover, with Watford having been relegated to the second division this season.
The 27-year-old Austrian international has 12 senior caps.
