Man Utd may be about to sign Jadon Sancho’s ‘idol’ to transform Erik ten Hag’s attack

The rumored summer transfer ambitions of Manchester United are sure to excite Jadon Sancho.

If Jadon Sancho’s social media behavior is any indication, he will be thrilled to hear that Manchester United is reportedly interested in PSG forward Neymar. A stunning summer signing has been linked to the Red Devils in an effort to improve Erik Ten Hag’s struggling assault.

An effective first season under the Dutchman has been built around United’s greatly improved defense.

David de Gea winning his second Premier League Golden Glove was significantly influenced by the additions of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.

But aside from Marcus Rashford’s career-best goal-scoring performances, it has been obvious that United is in desperate need of new offensive potency.

Rashford has 29 goals so far this season. The next highest scorers among the forwards are Anthony Martial and Antony, each with eight goals.

Sancho has improved from his first season’s performances, but six goals still represent a sharp decline from the totals he amassed at Borussia Dortmund.

L’Equipe reports that Ten Hag intends to approach PSG regarding Neymar in order to repair his weak forward line.

The 31-year-old winger is reportedly in discussion with Brazilian teammate Casemiro about a potential move to Old Trafford and wants to leave France this summer.

According to the source, United might offer him a long-term contract or consent to an initial loan while paying a portion of his lavish income.

The possibility of Neymar joining M16 for the upcoming campaign and supporting Rashford offensively has fans buzzing.

And Sancho will be equally thrilled by the prospect of teaming up with a player he has previously referred to as his hero.

After losing the first leg 4-0, Barcelona defeated PSG 6-1 in May 2015 at the Nou Camp to achieve one of the most astounding comebacks in Champions League history.

Neymar scored in the 88th and 91st minutes before Roberto’s 95th-minute winner while he was still a player for the La Liga giants before his record-breaking £200 million transfer to PSG in 2017.

Just a few weeks after transferring from Watford to Manchester City’s academy, 14-year-old Sancho tweeted in response to the incredible game: “My idol Neymar.”

After eight years, Sancho, at 23 years old, might be lining up beside him in the Champions League the following year.
