Deal Done and Signed – Medical Date Announced – Manchester United Captain completes $30m moves to club rival

West Ham and Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle to sign defender Harry Maguire in a deal worth over £30 million.

Personal terms are unlikely to be an issue, but there is still work to be done on the specifics of his departure from United.

West Ham, on the other hand, are cautiously confident about completing the signing after a £20 million approach for the England international was rejected last month.

Maguire practiced with Manchester United on Wednesday morning ahead of Monday Night Football’s Premier League opener against Wolves.

United have conducted extensive research on numerous defenders, notably Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, should they be able to recruit reinforcements at center-back for Maguire and Eric Bailly, whose representatives have spoken with Al Nassr.

To determine the specifics of a potential contract, discussions with Todibo representatives have taken conducted.

Erik ten Hag told Sky Sports News that he wants depth in the squad and competition for positions so that the team can battle on multiple fronts.
