With a 2-0 win against struggling Watford on Saturday, the Seagulls extended their unbeaten streak to seven Premier League games.

And Brighton will be optimistic of continuing their winning streak when they visit Old Trafford in midweek.

Albion has only lost one of their previous 12 Premier League away games, winning four and drawing seven. This season, no side in the Premier League has lost fewer away games than the Seagulls (one).

Meanwhile, United has recently struggled. They have drawn their previous three games 1-1, which is an unsettling trend.

Ralf Rangnick’s team led Southampton 1-0 in the first half on Saturday, as they had done in the FA Cup penalty shootout defeat to Middlesbrough and league draw with Burnley, but conceded in the second half and were unable to find a winner.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, who made a stunning and emotional return to Old Trafford last summer, is on a goalless streak that has lasted more than a decade.

The Portuguese superstar hasn’t scored in six games, his longest goal drought in 11 years.

United have struggled to score goals during interim manager Rangnick’s stint. Under the German, the Reds have scored fewer goals per game than any other manager in Premier League history (1.4 – 14 goals in 10 games).

News from the team

United hopes to re-sign South American duo Fred and Edinson Cavani.

Fred, a Brazilian footballer, tested positive for Covid-19 last week but has since recovered.

Cavani, the Uruguayan forward, will get a late fitness check on a groin ailment that kept him out of Saturday’s draw with Southampton.

Eric Bailly and Nemanja Mati are both scheduled to miss Albion’s visit.

Bailly, of the Ivory Coast, returned from the African Cup of Nations with an ankle injury that will keep him out for the foreseeable future.

Mati is now out with a shin injury and is a huge doubt for Tuesday night’s game.

Victor Lindelöf might replace the terribly out-of-form Harry Maguire, while Rangnick could replace Luke Shaw with Alex Telles.

The only players who will definitely miss the trip to Old Trafford for the Seagulls are Jeremy Sarmiento and Enock Mwepu.

Yves Bissouma could make his first appearance since his African Cup of Nations adventure with Mali last month, but head coach Graham Potter is unlikely to make any changes to the team that defeated Watford on Saturday.

Manchester United’s starting lineup has been predicted.

Cristiano Ronaldo, David De Gea, Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelöf, Alex Telles, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho

Brighton & Hove Albion’s probable lineup

Robert Sanchez, Jol Veltman, Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Yves Bissouma, Jakub Moder, Marc Cucurella, Neal Maupay, and Danny Welbeck

When does the game begin?

Manchester United vs. Brighton & Hove Albion will take off at 8.15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15 at Old Trafford.

Is the game being televised live?

Brighton’s Premier League match against Manchester United will not be shown live in the United Kingdom.

The UEFA Champions League round-of-16 matches between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, as well as Manchester City’s trip to Sporting in Lisbon, are being shown on BT Sport.

In the Championship, Sky Sports will show Cardiff City vs. Coventry City and Sheffield United vs. Hull City.

Officials of the game

On Tuesday evening, Peter Bankes will take over as referee, with Neil Davies and Nick Hopton serving as his assistants. Kevin Friend will be the fourth official, and Jarred Gillett will be the VAR, aided by Eddie Smart.
