According to reports, Ronaldo is actively seeking a move away from Manchester United this summer, with Fabrizio Romano telling CaughtOffside that the Portuguese star is growing increasingly disillusioned with the club’s lack of ambition.

According to Media Foot, Manchester United has been connected with Bayer Leverkusen attacker Wirtz as a prospective replacement for Ronaldo. Although not a direct replacement in terms of position, it could indicate a prospective system shift at Old Trafford.

Wirtz has filled in as a false nine on occasion, while Bruno Fernandes has done the same. Erik ten Hag may think about using the two players in this position next season instead of recruiting a striker like Ronaldo.

The German international is one of Europe’s brightest prospects, having already played consistently for both club and country. However, he recently sustained a season-ending injury, so there may be doubts about his ability to restore the form he shown prior to the injury.
