After missing out on Rasmus Hojlund, who is set to join Manchester United, PSG is hoping to sign Benfica attacker Goncalo Ramos.

The young Dane is about to complete his move to the Red Devils, forcing the Parisians to search elsewhere. They’ve selected Ramos, who sprang to prominence at the World Cup last year after scoring a hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland on his debut.

Domestically, he was prolific for the Lisbon-based club, netting 27 goals and catching the attention of Europe’s top clubs. Personal conditions have been negotiated, according to several newspapers, including RMC Sport, ahead of a £68 million relocation to the Parc des Princes.

PSG are stepping up their recruitment in the final third, with Ousmane Dembele set to leave Barcelona. Randal Kolo Muani, a leading talent in Germany with Frankfurt, is also on their radar as they look to bolster their offensive line.

Ramos, who is only 22 years old, is expected to be a top performer for the next decade, and United were previously interested in him. Bruno Fernandes, who has seen the Benfica man up close with his national team, was full of praise for his compatriot and was eager for United to sign him.

“I think Goncalo [Ramos] has all the conditions to play in the Premier League,” Fernandes said earlier this summer to Portuguese channel Sport TV, according to Record. “He plays with a lot of intensity, he presses well, and he’s great inside the penalty box.” He is powerful. Obviously, he is still extremely young and will continue to progress.”

Instead, the Red Devils are going all in on Hojlund.

Jorge Mendes, Ramos’ agent, had negotiated Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester, and his friendship with PSG’s Sporting advisor Luis Campos was crucial in the sale. The French club’s frontline has featured a stellar cast in previous years, but is presently undergoing significant change.

Lionel Messi has moved to America, PSG wants to get rid of Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar has been connected with a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian could stay in Paris, but he will need reinforcements with the Parisians targeting numerous players.

They remain determined to getting Mbappe off their books, with the goal of running down his contract, allowing him to depart for free next summer.

The club believes he has a contract with Real Madrid but is determined to sell him.

“Nobody, no player, not even me, is bigger than the club.” “It’s very clear,” PSG president remarked.

“By football standards, you never see your best player leave for free.” It simply does not happen.”
