Evan Ferguson has kicked off the season in impressive form for Brighton, most notably scoring a hat-trick in their recent demolition of Newcastle. This performance prompted The Telegraph to value him at an astonishing £100 million.

Now, there is a race against time for Ferguson to recover in time for the crucial clash against Manchester United on September 16 at Old Trafford.

The latest update on Evan Ferguson’s injury reveals that he has been forced to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualifying matches against France and the Netherlands due to a knee injury, as reported by BBC Sport. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) issued a statement confirming his unavailability for both fixtures.

According to Premier Injuries, there is a 50 percent chance that Ferguson will be deemed fit for the Manchester United game.

It’s worth noting that Evan Ferguson was absent from a significant match against Manchester United last season due to an injury. He was unavailable for the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, which ended in a goalless draw before Manchester United secured victory in a penalty shootout.

Ferguson’s potential absence due to injury could further exacerbate Manchester United’s defensive issues, which became apparent in their recent encounter with Arsenal. Raphael Varane is already ruled out for the Brighton game, and doubts loom over the fitness of both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof, who are currently on international duty. United will be hoping that these players can return without any setbacks.
