Osimhen, who played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Scudetto victory last season after a 30-year drought, expressed his intention to potentially take legal action over the social media post.

The video featured Osimhen’s missed penalty against Bologna on Saturday, accompanied by a sped-up voiceover that appeared to ridicule the situation.

His agent, Roberto Calenda, strongly condemned the post, deeming it “unacceptable.” In an official statement, Calenda declared, “A video mocking Victor was initially published and, albeit belatedly, deleted.

This is a grave matter that inflicts substantial harm on the player and adds to the unwarranted scrutiny and false information he’s been subjected to lately. We are prepared to take legal action and any necessary steps to safeguard Victor.”

Osimhen’s current contract extends until 2025, and he hasn’t committed to new terms with Napoli. The Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, have all been linked to a potential move for the striker in recent months.

In March, Osimhen openly expressed his aspiration to play in the Premier League, stating, “Playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me.

The Premier League is widely regarded as the best and strongest league globally, but currently, I’m in one of the world’s best leagues, Serie A. I’m tirelessly working to realize my dream of playing in the Premier League someday.

It’s a process, and I’m committed to maintaining my momentum and performing well.”
