Huge blow for Barca as one of the best performing star out for season, Matic to leave Man Utd aim Barca interest

“Tests on Friday morning confirmed that Pedri ruptured the femoral biceps in his left hamstring,” according to a statement. “This implies he won’t be available for selection until he heals from his injury.”

Pedri has been declared out for the remainder of the season, according to numerous Spanish media reports, due to the same injury the 19-year-old star sustained in September, which caused him to miss over four months of play.

Despite missing the first half of the season due to injury, Pedri has become perhaps Barcelona’s greatest player in 2022. Earlier this month, he struck a stunning goal against Sevilla, propelling Xavi Hernandez’s side to second place in La Liga for the first time this season. He also scored against Galatasaray, helping Barcelona through to the Europa League quarterfinals.

During a post-match press conference last week, Xavi said of Pedri, “He is a superlative player.” “Watching him play is a sight.” He’s only 19 years old. He has no comparables.

When asked if the squad is overly reliant on Pedri, Xavi replied, “I wouldn’t put it like way, but he is an exceptional player.” I have nothing but praise for him; he is a player who thrills people and makes a difference.”

In other player news, Nemanja Matic has confirmed his intention to quit Manchester United this summer after making 183 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils since joining from Chelsea in 2017.

“After much deliberation, I have decided that this season will be my final with Manchester United.” “I notified the board, the manager, and the players about my choice,” Matic wrote on Instagram.

“It has been an enormous honor and joy to play for this fantastic club.” Thank you so much to the fans for your everlasting support. I’m going to give everything I’ve got until the conclusion of the season to help my teammates finish as strong as possible.”

The 33-year-old, who has started only 11 league games this season, is one of four United veterans whose contracts are coming to an end this summer, with Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, and Paul Pogba also out of contract.
