Fabrizio Romano: Ten Hag tells classy midfielder he’s “insistent” on bringing him to United

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag understands that the club requires additions across the board, given the greater expectations for his second season in command.

The midfield was one area that suffered as a result of injuries and bad form, with the team failing to find the ideal partner for the ever-present Casemiro.

Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, and loan signing Marcel Sabitzer were all capable of playing as the No. 8 but were all sidelined by long-term injuries.

Fred was in his usual unpredictable form, and United’s Dutch manager wants a versatile and lively No 8 in the summer when there will be a lot of churning.

United’s midfield is likely to undergo significant alterations.

The much-maligned Scot and Brazilian have been linked with departures, while Van de Beek is poised to be released after three unsuccessful seasons in Manchester. Sabitzer’s loan is not expected to be extended.

According to rumors. Ten Hag appears to favor Chelsea’s Mason Mount as a target because of his versatility and offensive prowess.

The Peoples Person recently claimed that the Blues had rejected United’s original offer and were holding out for considerably more, but there is growing optimism that a deal can be reached this summer.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer specialist, said in his CaughtOffside substack that United is in frequent contact with the player and that Mount is delighted with the significance Ten Hag places on him in his sporting mission.

“It’s clear that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag values Mason Mount’s skill set.” Although Chelsea rejected United’s initial offer of £40 million and will now demand a fee of £70 million, United remains optimistic that a deal can be reached.

“He is a sharp, forward-thinking player who loves to play on the front foot, always positive, and it’s clear that he understands Ten Hag’s style of play and would slot straight into his starting XI.” United is also persuaded that he is ideal for their style of play.

Mount admires Ten Hag’s United initiative.

“The Red Devils have continued to send Mount messages, letting him know how much they want him to join them.” He is their top priority. The player admires Ten Hag’s style of play and his determination to bring Mount to Old Trafford.”

Mount’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in a year, and United will not pay a premium for the England international.

According to Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old is worth €65 million, and the newest reports indicate that United will not even make that offer for the Chelsea academy graduate.

The Champions League winner is a frequent contributor of goals and assists and has twice been named Chelsea’s Player of the Year. If United steals their talisman this summer, it will be a tremendous blow to the Blues.
