United has prioritized a striker amid interest in Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, while Ten Hag has encouraged offers for Frenkie de Jong or Jude Bellingham.

Representatives for Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong have already spoken with United, who may also be looking for a center-back and a goalkeeper.

Ten Hag has encouraged United to be as harsh as possible this summer, and the club recognizes that there must be more outgoings than incomings.

United wants to sell Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles, and Anthony Martial. Defenders Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams will be allowed to depart, while United will consider offers for Anthony Elanga, Facundo Pellistri will be loaned out for the season, and Phil Jones will be released.

Ten Hag is growing frustrated with Jadon Sancho, while academy graduates Dean Henderson and Scott McTominay’s resale value is among the highest of the team players who could leave.

“I think we need to strengthen the team and add more positions,” Ten Hag added, “as well as increase the squad’s depth.” But don’t think about it right now. That is not the case.

“We’ve had a great season so far, so keep going, keep improving, keep progressing, and the team is doing so well, and I think it’s fun to be a part of this team.” We must keep it going.

“We have good players, a great team, and a great year, but it is only a success if we keep going.”
