Marcus Rashford’s potential England comeback has been called into question after Erik ten Hag claimed the 24-year-old had suffered a muscle injury’ following Manchester United’s victory against Arsenal.

The 24-year-old United midfielder has started the season well and was anticipated to be chosen to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions side for the upcoming Nations League games against Italy and Germany.

Rashford, on the other hand, did not go with Manchester United to their Europa League match against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday due to injury.

During United’s press conference on Wednesday evening, Ten Hag confirmed Rashford’s injury status. He stated that the 24-year-old became aware of the problem following the club’s triumph over Arsenal.

However, he downplayed the seriousness of the injury, insisting it was ‘not severe.’ Despite the setback, Ten Hag believes Rashford will make England’s World Cup roster.

Regardless, Rashford will miss United’s forthcoming Europa League match. Along with Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he will remain at home.

On Wednesday morning, none of the quartet trained at Carrington before their departure to Moldova.
