“Delighted to let him go” – Boost for Manchester United as director lays transfer red carpet

Multiple Italian media have claimed that Manchester United are interested in Sofyan Amrabat and that the Fiorentina player wants to go to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Three days ago, Riccardo Galli of La Nazione stated that the Red Devils could wait until the end of the transfer window to get a discount from the Serie A club in order to sign the 26-year-old.

This is backed up by Quotidiano.net, which claims Manchester United is ‘waiting for a reduction’ towards the end of this month. They have, however, told Erik Ten Hag’s team that the discount “will not arrive.”

The Moroccan international’s contract expires in 2024, with a one-year extension option. Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Pradè has stated that his club requires a compelling offer to release the midfielder.
“If we can find a solution that pleases everyone, we’d be happy to let him go.” Otherwise, we’d be perfectly content to keep him. “He’s a strong player and a serious professional who cares about our shirt,” he told Quotidiano.net.

The article does not specify the amount required to persuade the Italian club to sanction the player’s sale, although it is widely assumed to be in the range of €25-30 million. However, they do note that “hopes of the transfer are not completely lost,” implying that there is still hope that Manchester United or another club will make a compelling bid.

According to Pradè, “the last days of August are the hottest for summer negotiations.”

If Amrabat is sold, the Italian club will have to hunt for a new midfielder this summer, according to Quotidiano.net.
