Man Utd to sell their ‘future captain’ and leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer red-faced

Man Utd expects a busy summer transfer period as they look to strengthen Erik ten Hag's team.

Scott McTominay and Dean Henderson will likely be sold by Manchester United, which might make Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unhappy. Erik ten Hag plans to spend heavily during the summer transfer window as the Red Devils look to add a striker and a central midfielder.

To finalize moves for players like Harry Kane and Mason Mount, United must raise money. Ten Hag might be required to sell some of his minor stars in order to pay for the club’s summer season.

Both McTominay and Henderson are apparently under attack. The Scottish midfielder has made a significant impact for both Ten Hag and former manager Rangnick, but during the January transfer window, Newcastle was mentioned in connection with a move.

Henderson, a goalkeeper, has been on loan to Nottingham Forest for this season. The England star hasn’t played since January due to a thigh injury, though.

According to The Athletic, both academy graduates may go to raise money for a busy transfer window. It might make former managers Rangnick and Solskjaer regret making such bold forecasts about the pair’s United careers.

Last season, near the end of Rangnick’s disastrous tenure as interim manager, the German said that McTominay might become the club’s next captain at Old Trafford. The midfielder was described by the now-Austria head coach as “an academy boy, his energy is amazing.”

He is now beginning to score goals and demonstrates some leadership qualities. I wouldn’t be shocked if he became the team’s captain in a few years.

Henderson would be the first-choice goalie for United and England going forward, according to Solskjaer. In 2020, Solskjaer observed, “This season has proved to be a terrific experience for him.

He has proven via his performances that he will eventually be England’s and Man United’s number one and has done himself some favors.

“Keeping the players content, on the team, or off of it is not my responsibility. They have a responsibility to perform and do well in part. Dean has grown tremendously over the years and has made some excellent decisions.

In the upcoming summer transfer window, United plans to pursue a midfielder and a striker. The Chelsea forward Mount is rumored to ‘prefer’ a move to Old Trafford, while United is interested in both Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen of Napoli for the center-forward position.
