According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is nearing a return to Juventus and has agreed to terms on a three-year contract. The Frenchman’s contract with the Red Devils expires this summer, and he will join the Bianconeri as part of a Bosman transfer.

As a 19-year-old, he joined Juventus on a free transfer from Manchester United in 2012. Pogba spent four years in Italy, wowing fans and pundits with his performances before returning to Manchester United in a world-record move.

Pogba’s second stint at Old Trafford, on the other hand, has been marred by inconsistency. The Frenchman has displayed flashes of brilliance but has never developed into the world-beater that was expected of him prior to his move. The change in managers at Manchester United hasn’t helped his case either, as he’s been forced to play in various systems without a clear role.

Pogba was linked with a move away from Manchester United last season as well, but he stayed and is now set to run out his contract with the club. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner got the season off to a flying start, assisting four goals in the first Premier League game of the season.

Pogba was sidelined for three months due to a hamstring injury, and he has yet to regain his form since returning to the team.

Pogba appeared in 233 games for Manchester United, scoring 39 goals and assisting 51 others, and it appears that he will return to Serie A by signing a three-year contract with Juventus.
