Teden Mengi will join Luton Town on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The Manchester-born kid, who plays as a center-back and is also a Manchester United academy graduate, is set to join freshly promoted Luton Town for an undisclosed price in the coming days.

The teenager has spent time on loan at Derby County and Birmingham City. However, he has yet to earn any Premier League experience with the Red Devils’ senior team.

Despite appearing in the 2020 Europa League game against LASK, he has yet to make his senior Premier League debut. The transfer to Luton would be favorable for him because it would provide him with the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

Mengi’s Loan Club Performance

Mengi finished his first loan spell away from Manchester at Derby County in the latter part of the 2021 season, under Wayne Rooney’s guidance, and made nine appearances for the team.

His loan was unfortunately cut short owing to a hamstring injury. His return to Carrington was motivated by this injury since he was expected to be out for the remainder of the season.

As the year came to a conclusion, Teden was still recovering and determined to find another loan opportunity to return to the field. This led to his second loan spell, where he joined Birmingham City during the January 2022 transfer window and returned to the Championship.

Despite establishing a good impression on the team during this time, he was only able to play ten games owing to a reoccurring hamstring problem.

Luton Town Transfers Luton Town, a newcomer to the Premier League, has made modest but steady progress in the transfer window. Ross Barkley is certainly the summer’s headline acquisition, but the Hatters have also brought in Marvelous Nakamba from Aston Villa and Mads Anderson from Barnsley.
