The goalkeeper signed a five-year contract and completed the transfer paperwork yesterday. Both teams are about to make an announcement.

Henderson, who spent 12 years at Old Trafford and briefly challenged David de Gea for the No. 1 spot, will cost United £15 million in cash and £5 million in add-ons.

United will also have a sell-on clause, as reported by Mail Sport earlier this week.

Under Roy Hodgson, he is likely to be Palace’s first-choice goalkeeper, with Sam Johnstone his main competitor after Vicente Guaita was frozen out.

Meanwhile, United will complete a £4.3 million deal to capture Fenerbahce’s Altay Bayindir as a replacement for Andre Onana, another summer signing.

Henderson was allowed to undergo his physical despite his first-team duties at United this season, and the transaction moved rapidly through the final steps.

Indeed, Henderson traveled to London shortly after United’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, in which he was named to the bench.

Last season, the 26-year-old was on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he maintained six clean sheets in 19 Premier League outings before suffering a thigh injury.

Forest and United discussed a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season, but Henderson finally returned to United.

He basically burned his bridges at Old Trafford after criticizing the club for not making him their first choice, words that irritated Erik ten Hag.

Bayindir arrived in England over the weekend and was met by his agents in Manchester yesterday to finalize the specifics of his relocation.

Bayindir, who was an unused substitute in Fenerbahce’s 5-1 Conference League win against Twente last week, has five Turkish caps so far.

United officials traveled to Greece last week to finalize the transfer of Bayindir, who appeared in 40 games across all competitions last season.

United is still active as the transfer deadline approaches. They are said to be in negotiations with Chelsea about loaning out left-back Marc Cucurella.
