Carabao Cup quarter-finals draw: Manchester United to play South-East London club in quarter-finals

Manchester City will play Southampton in the League Cup quarter-finals after defeating holders Liverpool, while Manchester United was given a home fixture against third-tier Charlton Athletic in Thursday’s draw.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will visit Nottingham Forest, while Newcastle United will visit Leicester City.

Champions Manchester City won the League Cup six times in the last nine years, defeating Liverpool 3-2 in a thrilling fourth-round match.

Charlton, who last played in the Premier League in 2007, upset Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties following a 0-0 draw to earn a trip to 20-time English champions Manchester United, who defeated Burnley 2-0 to reach the final eight.

The matches will take place during the week of January 9th.
