Kylian Mbappe is willing to spend a season on loan in the Premier League before completing his dream move to Real Madrid.

The French superstar is out in the cold at Paris Saint-Germain after revealing his intention to leave at the conclusion of his two-year contract next summer. PSG thought they had the striker locked up until 2025, but the extra year on his mega-contract was an option for Mbappe, not the club, and one he informed them he was declining.

That left the French club seeking to cash in on the 24-year-old, and they were enraged when Mbappe declined to negotiate with Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al-Hilal, who had made a world record bid of £259 million.

Now that Mbappe’s situation has deteriorated, PSG would be willing to let him leave on loan for a fee. This has alarmed a number of Premier League clubs, notably Chelsea, Arsenal, and, despite Jurgen Klopp’s denials, Liverpool.

Mbappe’s representatives, including his Liverpool-supporting mother Fayza Lamari, have held private talks with a number of Premier League club intermediaries.

They had conversations with Liverpool about a move in 2017 but chose to join PSG instead. “We talked a little bit, but not too much,” Mbappe said last year in an interview with the Telegraph.

“We had a brief conversation. I spoke with Liverpool because it is my mother’s favorite team; my mother adores Liverpool. I’m not sure why; you’ll have to ask her! It’s a good club, and we’ve known them for five years. I ran into them in Monaco. It’s a large club.”

Her son has informed her that, while he is keen to join Real Madrid, who could be denounced by PSG for an alleged unlawful approach, he does not want to waste this season rotting away in the PSG shadows.

He like English football and believes that playing in the Premier League would be a rewarding experience.
