In his post-match comments, Ten Hag commended the progress of the Red Devils, emphasizing that they are moving in the right direction.

Reflecting on the match, Ten Hag stated, “I don’t see that in facts of a response. We play now four games after the break, so we had one disappointing result and we had two before that night, very good performances.

Today, again, a very good performance and, of course, with the result. At the end of the day, it’s about the result and I’m very pleased with it. I think they played very good.”

He highlighted the team’s positive displays against Galatasaray and Everton, showcasing the evident progress.

Regarding the game dynamics, Ten Hag acknowledged that while Chelsea outplayed United at times, the team showcased resilience to mount a comeback.

“In the first half, we created a lot of chances, by 30 minutes, we could go up by three goals maybe.

To be fair, they outplayed us as well, one, two or three times and also created chances, but you make your own luck when you have the spirit we showed today,” he added.

Expressing gratitude to the fans, the head coach thanked them for their unwavering support during challenging times.

“Even in bad times, the fans and the crowd are behind us. They are supporting us, and we have to please them.

We have to give everything we have, as a team, it is what they can expect from us. So we have to cooperate and we have to give the best we can,” he concluded.

Scott McTominay’s brace secured the victory for United, with the midfielder netting in the 19th and 69th minutes.

Despite a missed penalty by Bruno Fernandes in the eighth minute, United dominated the first half. Chelsea managed to level the scores with Cole Palmer’s goal near the end of the first half.

The decisive header by Scott in the second half sealed United’s win. The Red Devils currently hold the sixth spot in the table with 27 points, while Chelsea sits in the 10th spot with 19 points.
