The 28-year-old, who faced concerns after exiting Tuesday’s Champions League defeat with a hamstring issue, participated in team training on Friday, signaling his potential availability at Anfield.

Shaw’s premature departure during the 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich, where Aaron Wan-Bissaka took his place, had raised worries, especially considering his recent return from a thigh muscle injury.

However, ten Hag provided reassurance, stating that the left-back is likely to be in contention for the Liverpool match.

In contrast, the news is less positive for Harry Maguire, who sustained a knock midweek and has been ruled out for the upcoming games.

Ten Hag emphasized that Maguire’s absence is not expected to be long-term.

Speaking on the overall fitness situation, ten Hag confirmed Marcus Rashford’s return for the Liverpool encounter, but Anthony Martial remains sidelined.

This development is a welcome boost for Manchester United, especially given the challenging fixture against the current Premier League leaders.

Shaw’s potential availability adds defensive strength and stability to the team, addressing concerns over recent dips in form as they prepare for a crucial match at Anfield.
