Ronaldo was unstoppable at Old Trafford, scoring his 18th Premier League goal of the season in the second half.

After being upended in the area by Rico Henry, the Portugal captain rifled the ball home from the penalty spot.

If this is Ronaldo’s final game at Old Trafford, it was surely a worthy send-off.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was chosen Man of the Match and received a standing ovation from United fans who lingered in the stadium after the final whistle.

But there’s a chance we’ll see Ronaldo in a Red Devils jersey next season, as the striker appeared to convey a message to the rest of the world as he exited the field.

With cameras trained on him, the former Real Madrid and Juventus player appeared to remark, “I’m not finished.”

Take a look at the video…

Perhaps another chapter will be added to Ronaldo’s extraordinary story at United in 2022/23.

After witnessing his masterclass against Brentford, which included some brilliant playmaking and tireless defensive work, you get the impression he has to be in Erik ten Hag’s plans.

Before Monday night’s game, United icon Roy Keane stated unequivocally that he believes Ronaldo – who has a year left on his current contract – will be at the club next season.

“I wouldn’t have imagined so,” the Irishman said when asked if the Brentford game could be Ronaldo’s final game at Old Trafford.

“I know there’s talk, but I can’t see Ronaldo not being at Manchester United next season unless something terrible happens in the summer.”

“Looking at his goals, he’s a threat, and any manager would want to work with him.” That simple.”
