Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid, with the Brazil international set to become the club’s fourth summer signing. The Red Devils hope the player will be fit to play against Liverpool on Monday. And the club want three more stars to go through the same routine before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Manchester United have spent most of the summer trying to secure the services of Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, and Erik ten Hag is hoping to reunite with his former Ajax pupil.

However, with the Dutch international reluctant to join Old Trafford, it looks like Casemiro will arrive instead.

United sent a group to Spain to negotiate with Real Madrid earlier this week, and a £60m deal was agreed between the two football giants.

Casemiro is ready to travel to Manchester for a medical and the 30-year-old is keen to take on a new challenge in the Premier League, even if it means giving up the Champions League for a year.

And he is not the last player United would like to see pass the fitting before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

The club are also hoping to find a new goalkeeper, a right-back and a striker, and the Red Devils want Casemiro’s medical to be just the beginning.

At right-back, the Red Devils are ready to part with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams to upgrade.

Wan-Bissaka could join Crystal Palace, while Williams’ departure could be a loan move, as permanent suitors are few and far between at the moment.

Thomas Meunier is a possible option, as he has been playing at the highest level for a long time. Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly open to a sale.

And United are interested in Barcelona star Sergino Dest, as the US international played under Ten Hag at Ajax.

United are also keen to get a new striker through a medical before the transfer window closes early next month.
