In a behind-closed-doors friendly, Manchester United will face National League side Wrexham AFC.
Summer signings at Manchester United Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez both made their debuts for the club in a pre-season friendly against National League side Wrexham.
United and Wrexham have agreed to play a behind-closed-doors encounter at Carrington on Wednesday, ahead of the start of their respective seasons next week.
According to the Manchester Evening News, both Eriksen and Martinez started for Erik ten Hag’s side in the encounter, which began at 2pm BST, with the Denmark international scoring on his unofficial debut.
Raphael Varane is believed to be another senior player taking part in the action at Carrington as United use the opportunity to develop fitness ahead of their Premier League start against Brighton.
Eriksen and Martinez could both play for United this weekend, when they play two friendlies in two days against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.
Martinez’s signing was revealed by United on Wednesday afternoon, an hour before he took the field with his new teammates against Wrexham.
Martinez signed a five-year contract with United for £46.8 million, with an additional year option.
