Victor Osimhen hints at Man Utd transfer but adds a catch which could force Harry Kane bid

Manchester United's interest in Victor Osimhen has been boosted, but the club may be forced to settle for Harry Kane.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has stated that playing in the Premier League is ‘a desire of all players’ amid strong transfer links. Osimhen is allegedly one of Manchester United’s top summer targets, with Erik ten Hag looking for a long-term goalscorer.

The 24-year-old is having a fantastic season, scoring 21 goals in 25 appearances to help Napoli compete both at home and in Europe.

Napoli leads Serie A by 18 points and has already won the Scudetto for the first time since 1990.

They are also on the verge of reaching the Champions League quarter-finals after a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the last-16 first leg.

Osimhen’s prolific exploits have propelled him to the forefront of Manchester United’s striker links, and he has made it clear that he wants to play in England one day.

He did, however, add that his full attention is currently on Napoli, which could prompt the Red Devils to turn their attention to Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane if he does not want to leave this year.

Kane has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, which could be contingent on Tottenham’s Champions League status next season.

However, Osimhen displayed an elite mentality that would serve him well if he made the move to the Premier League this summer or later.

He revealed that he was confident Napoli would win their first Serie A title in 33 years this season, despite the skepticism of many of his teammates.

“He was skeptical, but I persuaded him. Spalletti approaches and inquires as to what we are discussing. I tell him, and he looks at me and says, ‘if your teammates are as convinced as you are, yes, we can try’.

“This is how our beautiful story began, with matches, training sessions, and men who don’t hold back. We are a group of leaders.”
