A deal for offensive midfielder Bernardo Silva is being discussed between Manchester City and Arsenal. No fee has been set for the player.

According to Pedro Almeida, a Portuguese transfer specialist, Arsenal, and Manchester City are now in negotiations to sign Bernardo Silva from Real Madrid. The tweet makes no mention of a fee or whether or not the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement on a transfer agreement.

Arsenal’s attacking midfield is a key area for improvement, and the Gunners have looked at a variety of options but have come up with nothing useful. It was their first goal to extend Emile Smith Rowe’s contract and find a replacement for Martin Odegaard, who had recently left the club. His six-month loan spell at the club last season was fruitful for the Norwegian.

DON’T MISS:

Arsenal was regarded to be weak in the creative areas prior to the introduction of Smith Rowe and the signing of Odegaard. Chances were also at a premium prior to the arrival of Odegaard. In spite of the fact that they were initially viewed as rivals, the duo found themselves playing together in the majority of games, and the departure of the Norwegian left a vacuum in the squad that needed to be filled.

Although Arsenal is interested in signing James Maddison, the club’s asking price of £12 million is becoming prohibitively expensive. Although Arsenal’s interest in Lyon’s Houssem Aouar is less intense than it was last summer, the French club is still interested in signing him. Bernardo Silva is the other viable option.

When Pep Guardiola declared the Portuguese’s decision to quit the club, Arsenal was one of the few clubs who expressed an interest in acquiring him. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in signing the attacker, although Arsenal might be an attractive alternative for him should he choose to remain on English soil…

DON’T MISS:

In addition to having already purchased Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million, Manchester City also has a surplus of attacking midfielders in their roster. They hope to raise money to bankroll future activities, with Harry Kane being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, amongst others.

Mikel Arteta is well acquainted with the player, having coached him while serving as Guardiola’s personal assistant. Silva fits the sort of players the manager is seeking, and he could sway the Portuguese in the direction of the Arsenal.

The rationale of a transfer is strengthened if the transfer fee involved is significantly lower than that charged by Maddison. Silva, who is only 27 years old, has more experience and a slew of championship titles than the Leicester City player, despite being older. For the Gunners, either of the stars will be beneficial. If the reports of talks between the two teams are true, it is possible that the discussions are only to determine the conditions of the agreement between the two clubs in question.

DON’T MISS:

Neither the asking price nor the amount that Arsenal is willing to pay is mentioned in the statement from Manchester City. Any fan base would be pleased to have Silva as a player, but we believe the price will be closer to or perhaps higher than the £60 million the Foxes are requesting for Maddison.
