Man Utd takeover latest as ‘angry’ Erik ten Hag blames Glazers inactivity as £100m Arsenal hijack foiled

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has had enough of the club's takeover crisis and is enraged by the impact it is having on transfer plans this summer.

The Red Devils manager is allegedly enraged by the lack of progress and believes it has cost the club the chance to sign in-demand West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.

According to the Sun, ten Hag is ‘mad’ that the takeover ‘thwarted’ his ambitions to bring Rice to Old Trafford in the coming months, as Arsenal looks certain to recruit the English international.

The Gunners’ £90 billion deal was rejected by West Ham, but they are poised to increase their offer, with Manchester City also interested in Rice.

The Glazers have given the Dutchman a tiny transfer purse, but the present United owners are hesitant to pour money into the club if they are planning to sell it, especially with no large outgoings from Old Trafford this summer.

A number of groups are still negotiating for a prospective takeover of Manchester United, but the newest information indicates that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is the frontrunner.

The Qatari is thought to be close to reaching an agreement with the Glazers for exclusivity over a possible sale, with a reported bid of £6 billion.

United’s club share price has risen in the recent week as a result of reports of a successful proposal from the Sheikh, jumping to $25.54 upon the announcement of the Reuters report and closing at $24.88 in New York.

Sheikh Jassim’s father’s news organization, Al-Watan, claimed earlier this week that his campaign had been successful. They did, however, provide a correction later on.

Meanwhile, according to BBC Sport, INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still in talks with the club and would purchase a majority interest, allowing the Glazers to retain some of their shares, rather than a complete Sheikh buyout.
