After kicking out Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Red Devils have named Ralf Rangnick, 63, to lead them into their bright new era.

Rangnick will remain as United’s coach until the conclusion of the season, after which he will take on a two-year advising role.

He’ll almost certainly have a big say in who joins the club — and who leaves.

Rangnick wants to add four players, while four others could be released, according to Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk.

Cavani was thought to be the closest to the exit door among those named as possible exits.

The Uruguayan striker has now told United of his desire to leave in January, according to The Times. Cavani is thought to have made up his mind after seeing his playing time reduced as a result of Cristiano Ronaldo’s joining.

His contract at Old Trafford was set to end anyway, so his departure will be expected.

‘Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani wants to join Barcelona next summer,’ according to The Times.

‘Before the end of his career, the Uruguayan forward wants to play for Barcelona.’ He feels he can play at the highest level for at least another two seasons.’

As a result, if Barcelona makes a concrete offer to sign him, United will not stand in his way.

Their well-documented financial situation, on the other hand, suggests they don’t have a lot of money to spend. Instead, they’d rather sign the 34-year-old as a free agent at the end of the season.

Barcelona, on the other hand, appears to be looking for a new striker. Sergio Aguero, the summer addition, is expected to retire owing to a heart problem, albeit no formal confirmation has been given.

During his first season at United, the veteran striker scored 17 goals. However, due to his limited playing time, he has only scored once in eight appearances this season.

Cavani gives Jadon Sancho some guidance.

The summer addition of Jadon Sancho has been one of the reasons for Cavani’s troubles this season.

While the England winger has taken his time adjusting, Cavani is providing him with some sound advice.

The experienced forward told United’s official website that he knows how his buddy can maintain his form.

“One of the things that scoring goals can offer you is the confidence and peace of mind to keep working and practicing hard,” Cavani added.

“In football, you have to have an extra level of inner power a lot of the time.” This then motivates you to keep going even if you don’t get on the scorecard.

“And being able to keep your spirits up and retain the same level of dedication and hard work while maintaining a high level of fitness.”

Sancho is also backed by Cavani to keep up his good form in front of goal.

“We’re all ecstatic that he scored his first goal. Cavani continued, “I suppose it’s been a difficult period for him, but football is like that.”

“I think people are always full of expectation when they reach a particular level of the game.” There’s always a lot of discussion and queries concerning players.

“I believe all he needs to do now is maintain exhibiting all he’s shown us so far and working quietly and clearly.”
