The forward, 37, is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and hopes to stay despite the club’s failure to finish in the top four this season. It was originally assumed that the star would request a transfer if the club failed to qualify for the Champions League.
According to The Sun, the Portugal international now wants to stay and help the team under the new boss.
“Ronaldo assured the players he’s not going anywhere unless the club says they don’t want him,” the source said. No one is more dissatisfied with the season’s outcome than he is.
“But he doesn’t want to depart on a negative note, and he wants to assist the club re-enter the Champions League and win a title next year.”

Ronaldo is the club’s leading scorer this season, with 18 goals in 29 Premier League games. However, others have expressed concern that his outings are undermining interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s system.
However, Anthony Elanga, a 20-year-old winger, told the club’s official website about the positive impact he’s had: ‘You can see his record and how many goals he’s scored.’
