The 20-year-old attacker was revealed as a Manchester United player at Old Trafford over the weekend, posing with the shirt.

He will not be ready to play Wolves in Manchester United’s first Premier League game of the season, so fans will have to wait.

Here’s what we know so far regarding the Denmark international’s possible debut…

Rasmus Hojlund’s recent injury

Manchester United issued a brief statement on Rasmus Hojlund’s fitness battle on Monday (7/8), with mixed results.

“It’s likely to be a few weeks before we see him with his boots on, due to a minor issue he sustained in pre-season with his former club,” the club noted.

“Rasmus’ recovery is going well, and we know he’ll be itching to get back out there as soon as possible.”

The nature of Hojlund’s injury has not been disclosed by United, while Premier Injuries describes it as a “knock.”

‘A few weeks’ seems less optimistic than we would have hoped, despite United trying to spin it by stating his recovery is ‘progressing well’.

Rasmus Hojlund’s possible debut

If the ‘a few weeks’ plan is correct, Rasmus Hojlund could miss the August games against Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur, and Nottingham Forest. His participation in the match against Arsenal on September 3 is also in doubt.

However, Premier Injuries estimates he has a 25% probability of returning for Tottenham’s game on August 19, his earliest possible return date.

If the club prefers to be careful about Hojlund’s recovery and leave him out during the international break to reduce the chance of further injury, his debut might occur when Manchester United face Brighton at Old Trafford on September 16.
