The forward was replaced late in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against Everton on Saturday due to what appeared to be a groin issue. Ten Hag refused to identify the nature of United’s no.10’s injury after the game. “I can’t say right now,” the Dutchman remarked.

“We have to wait and see how bad or good it is.” He obviously went off, and we’ll have to wait for the diagnosis and see.”

Meanwhile, the Mirror reports that Manchester United “will not gamble” on Rashford’s fitness. “United are not willing to rush Rashford back and risk losing him for an extended period of time at such a critical stage of the season,” the outlet claims.

If the England international is ruled out, Jadon Sancho and Antony are set to start wide, with Anthony Martial or Wout Weghorst slated to play across the middle. Ten Hag recently stated that Martial is not fit to start games at the moment, but the 30 minutes he had in his legs over the weekend may have changed the United manager’s mind.

Luke Shaw is another doubtful for the game against Everton. The former Southampton man is unlikely to return for the match against Sevilla, with Tyrell Malacia set to fill in.

Casemiro is available again, both domestically and in Europe, but if he and Bruno Fernandes pick up bookings against Old Trafford on Thursday, they will miss the second leg.
